George Washington's Teeth!

In Baltimore, scientists are attempting to paint a more correct, overall picture of our first president, George Washington.  How??  By studying his teeth!

I found this article interesting because I remembered a conversation some students were having about G.W.'s teeth.  "Were they made of wood?"  One asked.  "No," said Stephanie.  Well, now we can all know.

According to this article, and scientists who are hard at work, G.W.s teeth are made of composite materials!  Laser scans on one of the four known sets of Washington's dentures reveal that "The dentures are made from gold, ivory, lead, human and animal teeth (horse and donkey teeth were common components)."
