In read a loud we're also reading George Washington's Spy. Matt has lost sight of Moses! There he is during the Revolutionary War and he's completely lost and without a guide. I wonder if maybe he'll find Ben Franklin or if he'll get caught by redcoats and hung. No, not really...I doubt that one of the protagonists in the story would be killed in the middle of it.
I do wonder though what will happen to him. Maybe, this is when he finally finds out that his sister Katie and friends are alright? Speaking of which, it must be very difficult for them all to not have any electronics around. Can you imagine? I can't be without my computer for one day much less a cellphone.
If you lived in Colonial America, what would you miss most about your own time? What kinds of things do you think were better back then? What do you think was worse?
When you answer these questions...please remember to: 1) write in complete sentences 2) cite reasons for your opinion...from the books! and 3) explain!!! Remember that writing is a form of communication and communication is not efficient if no one understands what you mean to say!

ReplyDeleteI think something good about back then would be the horses. Horses rule.
Something bad about back then would be the epidemics and no shots, also the war. And the clothes.
IRIS.
I would miss most is my tv
ReplyDeleteI think that I would miss bathrooms, and hate having no sewage systems. If only we had listened to the Aztecs. I would probably miss some of the types of food we have today, well not as extreme as Hooter. Finally, I would miss Mac computers and the Internet.
ReplyDeleteI think what i would hate the most about colonial times is some of the types of food there was. I would NOT want to get sick because they didn't have the best cures. Sometimes there was no doctor. Also being under the rule of Britain and being in war with Britain would be not cool.I would hate the clothing. I think that i would also not like the slavery factor.....
I think that I would agree with Camila that with no TV's we could play more outside. We could also make discoveries that Have already been made. (i.e. shots and pens)
Without a TV you could play more outside but I'm guessing it would be difficult to play outside during the Revolutionary War. I know many girls said you'd have fancy clothes. I don't know about you but I'm very comfortable in jeans and like Zea my sneakers. I would miss those and would HATE wearing all those gowns and the wigs...wigs, I figure are itchy. Most of all, I'd miss not having a bathroom and hot showers. I'd really miss my hot showers!
ReplyDeleteSame opinion on clothing as Raff! T-shirt,Jeans,and sneakers are fine for me.
ReplyDeletecomputer.i think the food wuold be better.the books were worse eva
